About us
Personalised sensory wellbeing for everyone, everywhere

Our story
David McIntyre, Founder and CEO of Cubbie, is a design engineer with over 30 years of experience. A few years ago, he was approached by a local school to design a new sensory room. Around the same time, his daughter was diagnosed with autism, which opened his eyes to how deeply sensory overload can affect daily life.
These experiences taught him a lot about sensory processing difficulties (SPD) and how sensory dysregulation can quietly build up, leading to feelings of distress, panic, or withdrawal. This can greatly impact a person’s confidence, wellbeing, and sense of belonging. Cubbie was founded to make a difference and create a sensory solution that helps individuals regulate, feel safe, included, and supported.
At Cubbie, our mission is to remove barriers for neurodivergent individuals by providing them with a safe and effective way to self-regulate and create inclusive environments for everyone. Today, Cubbie is partnering with schools, local authorities, NHS trusts and healthcare services, workplaces, public spaces, and essential services to deliver standardised, personalised sensory wellbeing for everyone.

Our values
At Cubbie, everything we do is rooted in a set of values that guide how we show up and partner with our customers.
Customer-centred
Our customers are at the heart of everything. We start every conversation with one question: what does our customer need?
Trustworthy
We show up with integrity every time. We're open about how we work, clear about what to expect, and accountable when things don't go to plan.
Responsible and efficient
We take care with your time and ours. We're thoughtful about how we use our resources, respectful of time, and focused on creating real, lasting value.
Always improving
We're never done learning. The world of sensory wellbeing is always evolving, and so are we. We’re actively looking for ways to do better, because our customers deserve a team that grows alongside them.
Solution-focused
We cut through the noise and get to what matters. When challenges arise, we focus on the path forward. We listen carefully, think practically, and deliver solutions that actually work for the people who need them.
Built for change
We're ready for what's next. Sensory needs, environments, and expectations are always shifting. We embrace that. By thinking ahead we make sure what we offer today is still relevant, and even better, tomorrow.
